We have finally decided to part with all our CDs (or at least what can be sold), so here is a list almost 500 more CDs. There is a ton of jpop here, but also a lot of English-language stuff (and a few other languages as well).

Prices vary from $1 and up. I imagine the bulk is in the $3-5 range, but some will be higher. Just let me know which ones you're interested in and I'll give you the pricing.

If you have questions about the condition, just ask, though I think most of these are very good to like new (all are playable).

Shipping is by media mail in the US, airmail/priority elsewhere.

I also still have hundreds of CDs and a couple dozen DVDs here. Most CDs on this list are $1 each and most DVDs are $3 each.

Here's the list of magazines I'm getting rid of. The cooking magazines are free to a good home, all you have to pay is shipping. For the Japanese magazines, I'd like to get 2/$1 + shipping, but it's very negotiable if you get more than a handful as really I just want to get these out of my house.

Shipping will be by media mail from 90405. I will ship outside of the US, but the only option is Priority Mail which is crazy expensive (especially for something as heavy as magazines), so I'm not sure anyone wants them that badly.

Magazines range from brand-new-looking to worn. I tried to note on the Japanese mags if I noticed something on the cover (like a price tag, etc), but I didn't page through them (there are so many!), so it's possible some may have pages or partial pages cut out. If that's a concern, let me know the ones you're interested in and I'll look through them. I also did not go through and list who is on the cover or inside, but again, if you want to know, just ask. For all the idol magazines, you can figure they're primarily Johnny's of some sort (mostly KinKi Kids, SMAP, Tokio, V6, and Jrs).

Carla is trying to sell her Macbook. She put up an ad on Craigslist this afternoon and immediately got a really creepy guy calling about it, so I said I'd offer it up on my journal, too. Here's her ad:

MacBook 1.83ghz/400gb HD/2gb RAM - $400

I have a three-year-old white MacBook for sale. It's been upgraded to 2gb of RAM and recently fitted with a 400gb hard drive. It is clean and runs well and can handle most things the average user would do, including web surfing, word processing and some (light) gaming. Unfortunately Apple chose to use Intel's "integrated graphics" card, the very weak GMA950 in this machine, and so you shouldn't expect to be able to play the latest and greatest high-end games. However you can run games like Bejeweled and the older Quake games just fine. It can (barely) manage Halo.

It has a built-in iSight webcam, two USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire 400 port, a mini-DV video port, one Ethernet port, AirPort wireless (up to 802.11g) and Bluetooth. I have the original box, the Apple Remote which came with it and the original software installation discs. I am presently running Mac OS 10.6.1 on this computer, but it comes with Mac OS 10.4. I am not selling it with any other OS, since that's the one it came with. But it handles Snow Leopard like a dream. I can pre-install the OS for you, or if you would prefer, I can ship it with a blank hard drive so you can install your own OS. This machine can also run Windows 7 very nicely via BootCamp.

The only real problem with this computer is its battery. It's got the original battery still, and it barely holds a charge. I have used this machine as my desktop computer for the last three years, and have not taken advantage of its portability. As a result, the battery has suffered. If you intend to use this machine as a portable (which is why it was made, after all) you'll need to buy a new battery.

The computer no longer under warranty, and is sold as-is. It is, however, running perfectly.

Okay, so we have four CD wallets full of burned CDs and DVDs from when we used to rent and trade stuff all the time. With no car, we really have no use for the CDRs, and while I held on to the DVDs out of nostalgia, I know I'll likely never watch them again, so they're just taking up space. But this is hundreds of discs and I feel bad about throwing them away.

So if anyone wants anything on this list, just let me know and I'll send it to you for the cost of shipping. I'd rather send large lots than just one disc here and there, but I'll also take requests for uploads, so if you don't want the physical CD or if you just want one thing, let me know and I'll rip and upload the mp3s.

Also, I can't guarantee quality. Some of these look a little scratched up, but most of them look fine. However, they have all been sitting here for years in a CD wallet, and may have deteriorated. So again, it's best to ask for lots, that way if one thing is messed up, you're not disappointed. :p

In other news, hopefully sometime within the next week or so I'm going to have lists of magazines. Cooking magazines will be just cost of shipping, jpop/idol magazines (and maybe a few anime, idk) will probably be a small price + shipping. I have three boxes full of Japanese mags and a closet full of cooking mags. D: I just really want to get rid of this stuff... (I also want to cry at the amount of money that represents, esp the Japanese stuff. Guys, there were years there were I was buying Duet, Potato, Wink Up, Myojo, Popolo, Junon, and more EVERY SINGLE MONTH. This is why we were in debt.)

Once again I'm putting up my massive list of CDs (~700) and DVDs (~60) for sale. This time I'm dropping the prices in a last-ditch bid to get a little more money before taking them to Record Surplus or something for pennies.

Almost all CDs are now $1 each and almost all DVDs are now $3 each, plus shipping. If you are buying a lot and want a deal, make me an offer.

So we have made a second cull of the CDs and found 100 more we can part with. Most of the new stuff is jpop that Bruce didn't think he could get rid of before, but has now changed his mind on. There's some non-Japanese stuff in there, too, though. Most of the stuff is $3 each. Same discounts apply as before.

I also went through our DVD cupboard and took out all the DVDs I own (Bruce was unwilling to part with any of his). Surprisingly I own 77 DVDs! I had no idea it was that many. Hopefully I will soon own none.

Like with books, I am often tempted to buy something I really liked, or that has a favorite actor in it, but the fact of the matter is that I simply do not rewatch stuff, so it's ridiculous for me to buy them. Renting or watching in the theatre is enough. All of these have sat in the cupboard for years, most of them never watched once since I bought them.

I have tried to note condition if it varied from new/almost new, and I have also noted if anything is other than my default, which is region 1/NTSC/widescreen, or if it is a special edition or anything like that.

Bruce finally finished writing up the CDs we pruned out. 844 CDs! Minus four we already sold, so there are a total of 840 behind the cut. Totally eclectic mix of stuff in many languages (though Bruce did want to keep most of the jpop stuff; there is some, though).

Stuff ranges from good condition to like new (some may have only been listened to once). Some may have cracked cases or price tags. All play fine. Please ask if you want more details on the conditions (and/or photos). For this many CDs, I really can't write up everything individually or I'll never get them listed.

As for pricing, most CDs are going to be $3 each/5 for $12. Some may be more. Some are $1 each/5 for $3. Again, I cannot go through and list prices individually for the whole list ahead of time, so if you are interested, just comment with the list of CDs you want and I will determine the prices then. If you want a really large number of CDs, I may be willing to give an extra discount.

Shipping is not included in the prices. I will ship first class (for one or two discs), priority mail, or media mail within the US (your choice of priority or media). Outside of the US it will almost certainly be priority mail, unless you just want one or two discs. If you want me to ship them minus the jewel cases to save on shipping, I am willing to do so.

Are you a lego collector? Do you have a kid who likes legos and would like a bunch for Christmas?

We have a ton and I really just want to get them out of the house. At first we were planning on separating them all out and putting them up on eBay separately, but that is just not happening, so at this point I'm thinking maybe I could sell them in a lot.

There are numerous small and medium sets of medieval, pirates, outer space, underwater, archeologist, etc. themes. There's also several small and medium Star Wars sets and two or three of the Time Twisters set (including the train pictured and a larger set as well), which is a very neat theme that I really loved. There's also a bunch of Bruce's old legos from when he was a kid (I already sold mine long ago) and a 1200 piece tub. Aside from Bruce's old ones, all or almost all of them have instructions (though I think the box pictures is the only box we have left). Some have already been separated out into sets and put in baggies. Some of Bruce's old ones have some wear and tear, being old and having been actually played with. The others we just bought and displayed, so they're in excellent condition.

If anyone's interested, just ask and I'll be happy to give more details, including exactly the names of the sets, etc. I can take more pictures, too.

I'm looking to sell my old laptop. Anybody interested?

It's a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4254 from a couple years ago. 1GB RAM (can take up to 4GB), 80GB hard drive, Intel Core Duo 1.6GHz processor. It's a 15" widescreen, 1280x800 display. 4 USB ports and 1 firewire. CD/DVD burner. Universal memory card slot. It comes with XP, but can run Vista. I still have the original box, packaging, and everything that came with it. I will reinstall the system before shipping, and can include Photoshop and/or Office 2007 for you if you want.

It has had some problems in the past, but is a really good machine and works well. The main problems I've had are that once in a while when I carried it from room to room while it was on, the motion put it to sleep (one time it wouldn't come back from sleep and I had to reboot); the CD burner sometimes acted like it made a CD with no problem, but then when I played it in the car, it either wouldn't play, or had skips (however, for playing CDs and DVDs, the drive works 100%); and a few times I had trouble getting it to turn on until I disconnected the external drive, at which point it turned on fine, I plugged in the external, and there was no problem.

Since I bought this new computer a few months ago, we have been using the old one for scanning and watching TV and doing other stuff, and have had no problems at all. There are no dead pixels or scratches on the screen, the case is in good condition, etc. Looks great.

I'm looking to get $250, but am willing to negotiate. UPS ground shipping is included in the price.


In addition, I have a great little USB scanner that works 100%, never had any problems with it. However, it is not compatible with Vista or more recent Mac OSes, so once we get rid of the old laptop, it's useless to us. I'm just looking for a home for it. It can be yours for $20, which is basically shipping and maybe a little more.
